And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.  Matthew 24:14

Walt Wilson (Global Media Outreach) – speaking on the Internet….
“I believe God has built this network to accomplish that very purpose within our lifetime. We are the first generation in all of human history to hold within our hands the technology to reach every man, woman and child on the earth by 2020.” We are being called to engage in the battle for human souls, all across the world. We are being given the tools to meet them in their time of need. The moment they step out of the darkness, we are there to meet them.. We have to get our people out of the pew and into the battle and this is tool to do it.”

It’s exciting to see so many members of Georgetown Bible Church communicating via the World Wide Web. Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc. are incredible ways to share your journey as a follower of Christ, get to know other GBC members, learn, chronicle your life, and generally connect with people you wouldn’t otherwise.

GBC is increasingly exploring how online community through social media can empower the GBC Family to be witnesses of the good news of Jesus Christ as church members and Christians. We believe it is in the best interest of GBC and our church family to be aware of and participate in the sphere of online community, interaction, and idea exchange to find opportunities to share the life change that comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

On Sunday evening, March 2, 2014, we launched a new ministry at Georgetown Bible Church.

We are beginning with  Facebook. In the future, we hope to expand our presence in the online community. Below are some documents that will help you as you join in this adventure with us.

You can download a handout made from the presentation that was made that night and a flyer that helps clear up any confusion over the difference between the page and the group and what information will be found where.

A new Social Media Policy was presented as well as Social Media Guidelines for use by official groups but also to challenge individuals to honor Christ with their own personal use of social media.

If you are interested in starting/administrating an official GBC Social Media outreach, you can download a sign-up form here.
