Truth & Training: 3rd through 6th grade

Awana is fun!  A kid’s ministry without fun is a ministry without kids. That’s why Awana takes fun “seriously.”  Our club meetings are so exciting that kids can’t wait to come back for more!

But fun is only the start.  While kids are having a blast, they’re learning and growing, too.  They participate in games and activities that train their bodies.  They learn verses and spiritual truths that expand their minds.  They encounter life lessons that feed their souls.  Awana teaches children that God is real, He loves them and He has expressed that love through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Kids also learn how God can help them in their daily lives.  The goal of Awana is to give boys and girls the chance to know, love, and serve God.

Awana meets every Monday evening, September through April, from 6:30 – 8:10 PM.  Come join us!

AWANA Program Overview
Game Time is when the kids get to play some fun games and are led by two game leaders who know their stuff. We try to keep things moving so all the kids get to play and have a fun time competing with each other.
Handbook time is when the kids get to review the work they’ve done in their handbooks. GBC provides a Start Zone to every visitor, free of charge. The kids who come back, after finishing their Start Zone, move on to their first year handbook.
Counsel Time is when the Sparkies and T&T clubbers get together to sing songs and hear a Bible lesson. We have some interesting and fun-to-listen-to speakers. Cubbies also have their own story time.
Awards are provided in recognition of all the work the clubbers do in their handbooks. Handbooks contain Bible memorization sections and other fun sections to complete. When a group of sections is completed, the clubber is recognized for their effort and given a candy prize. And, when a clubber completes an entire handbook, they will receive an award at the end of the year…again, free of charge!
